Discipline (Rules)There will be no swearing (this includes abbreviations such as "WTF" which are clearly swearing since everyone knows what it means), name calling or racial slurs allowed on «RL» servers, forum or TS. Also, offensive tags or names are not permitted. Guidelines for dealing with players violating the rules are as follows:
1st time - a warning will be issued.
2nd time – a warning, and if it is an RL member who wants to continue as a member they will be brought before the Senate, or a discipline committee of the Senate, on TS to explain their actions. If the Senate is not satisfied with their answer steps taken may included: a warning, reduction in rank, expulsion from the clan etc.. In the case of a member, the admin will report the offense as soon as possible to a General or Senator.
3rd time – member or non-member will be kicked or banned at the discretion of the admin who is on the scene.
If a member reports another member he/she needs to have proof of their accusation. This is to avoid a personal vendetta where members simply don’t like each other and are trying to get a fellow member in trouble. If proof is offered the individual committing the offense will be emailed with a warning from the Senate or be brought to TS before the Senate to explain their actions. Results could include a warning, rank reduction or expulsion from the clan.
* The Senate will be harder on members who are supposed to know the rules of behavior then non-members who may be ignorant of our rules.
Name Changes
Members may change their names once a year with Senate approval (although this is not encouraged on a yearly basis).
Clan Membership
No «RL» clan member may belong to another Halo clan. As an «RL» member you are expected to be active on behalf of the Roman Legion and not divide your time between clans. If the Senate finds out that a member is active in another Halo clan that individuals membership in the Roman Legion will be revoked immediately.
Members and Non-members on Teamspeak
Non-members are to be restricted to the default room, big living room, AFK room, other games room, on the clan's Teamspeak. The restriction on their ability to talk in the default room hasn't been lifted. Members are not to make their own personal room's in Teamspeak without the Senate's permission.
No one may ask our members (whether another member or a non-member) to join them in another clan, game type (such as Medal of Honor, etc.) or other enterprise. Our TS is to promote Halo and HaloCE not any other games or activities.
Recruiting by other Clans in «RL» Servers
Recruiting by any other clan in an «RL» Server or on the «RL» Forum is strictly prohibited. Such action is subject to some form of sanction by the Senate including being kicked, banned, etc..
Fair Play
In the interests of sportsmanship and fair play members are expected to balance teams whenever necessary. If players quit on red team, for instance, giving blue an advantage members are expected to act in a proper manner and make sure it is a fair game. Simply put someone needs to switch. Failure to do so may lead to an explanation of your actions before the Senate. Non-members are encouraged to act responsibly as well. We all want to have fun and unbalanced teams are not fun for all.
It is strictly against the rules to camp, especially around portals and in your own base. Any player that is seen doing this is subject to being kicked or banned depending on the circumstances. Camping is defined as continually staying in one position where opposing players cannot see you and react to your shot. Obviously, if you stay at a portal and wait for players to come through they do not have time to react before you shoot them. This requires no skill and is not something we want on our servers. Base camping is another form of camping that will not be tolerated. If, for example, on Death Island you stay at your base and simply shoot opponents who come in to the base again this requires no skill and will not be tolerated. «RL» encourages player movement at all times. If you are standing still it is a good bet you are camping.
Members Leaving
The Senate wants to be clear on this issue. As a general rule the Senate will not accept members back who have left the clan. If anyone is so inclined to consider leaving and actually does we wish him/her all the good fortune in the world. We would simply view leaving as a lack of committment and, therefore, it should be final. A former member may apply for reinstatement, however, that will be soley at the Senate's discretion and is not likely.
Avatars and Sig's on «RL» Forum
Avatars and sig's on the Roman Legion Forum must not depic or use bad language, excessive violence, nudity, blood, etc.. The Senate will review avatars and sig's and, if necessary, delete them and warn members. This rule is intended to promote good taste and respect for younger members. If a member is unsure as to the acceptability of his/her avatar or sig it is their responsibility to contact a Senator before using it.
Additionally, the Senate has decided that there
will be a limit of 2 signatures for a member's profile. This means a member may have only 2
images or 1 image + text allowed. The Roman Legion does not allow any advertising or promotion of any kind in the avatar or sig of any forum member. Such promotion or advertisment may result in a forum member being asked to remove the sig or avatar at the Senate's discretion. Exceptions to this are ads/promos for the Roman Legion clan and activities/promotion of the Roman Legion, which are generally allowed.
Forum Posting Abuse The Senate is constantly
monitoring member posts to ensure good taste and that posts are not
simply being done to increase post count. If a member is suspected of
spamming the forum, to artificially increase their post count, that
count will be reset to an agreed upon level by the Senate reflecting
the amount of spamming the member has done. Additionally, the member
will be sent a warning pm and their warning level (located under their
avatar on each post) will be increased appropriately. Continued abuse
of the forum will not be tolerated. The forum is here for communication
and fun. Please use it that way.
